A copy of the screenplay for this 1938 American romantic comedy film directed by Frank Capra, and starring Jean Arthur, Lionel Barrymore, James Stewart, and Edward Arnold. Adapted by Robert Riskin from the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1936 play of the same name and winner of both the 1938 year's Best Picture Academy Award, as well as earning Capra the Best Director award, his third Oscar in just 5 years. This is labeled "Third Draft, March 17, 1938" and printed in typescript on the recto only on punched paper and bound in pale green cardstock covers with 2 brass brads and a white typed label. The first page bears the stamp of Harold Hecht Corp, Los Angeles. (Hecht, 1907-1985 was a film producer, choreographer, talent agent and more) 166 pp. A piece of film history and quite uncommon. Near fine.
