Toward this purpose, the author "has drawn upon an extensive array of factuall, legal, sociological and psychological materials, blended them with his own experiences in the Army, and produced in one volume both a clear and constructive soldier's guide to survival and a stinging indictment of American militarism." A Vietnam-era classic, and a book whose publication would have been literally unimaginable during any previous American war. The author was an attorney who was himself drafted in 1967, and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana (where he provided legal advice to young trainees bound for Vietnam), and later in South Korea, where he defended soldiers in special courts-martial. Dea (Dorothy Lamour) is marooned on an isolated island since childhood with only the company of Koko the chimp, when Skipper Joe (Lynne Overman) and Johnny Potter (Robert Preston) are marooned on the island by a mutinous crew. The three must battle angry natives and survive tidal waves, a forest fire, and the titular typhoon to survive. Nominated for an Academy Award. Set on a South Sea island, and shot on location in Santa Catalina Island, Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden, and Baldwin Dry Lake, California. Four draft screenplays for the 1959-1960 television series. Copies belonging to an unknown cast or crew member, with their name in manuscript ink on the front wrapper of two scripts. All four episodes directed by Robert Altman, then only just beginning his directorial career. Rare. Collection includes one Final Draft script for…episode two, one Final Draft script for episode four, one Revised Final Draft script for episode 17, and one Final Draft script for episode 22. Laid in with the screenplay for episode two is a master shooting schedule, laying out filming locations from May 21 to May 25, 1959. "The Troubleshooters" followed a construction team as they traveled the world for different jobs, headed by two engineers-one older, gruff, and grizzled, the other young, well-educated, and soft-spoken. The series was canceled after a single season, with 26 episodes produced in total.
