La version de Rigaud est écrite en vers, contrairement à celle donnée par Bursay et jouée au Théâtre de l'Odéon le 27 décembre 1798. Il semble que celle de Rigaud ne fut jamais représentée. Gérard de Nerval fit également une traduction de ''Misanthropie et repentir'' créée à la Comédie française le 28 juillet 1855, mais restée inédite jusqu'en 1959.
