In den WarenkorbCloth. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. Sir Joshua Reynolds (illustrator). First edition. A first edition copy of this fascinating work studying the manuscripts of Sir Joshua Reynolds, in the scarce dust wrapper. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. Bookplate to the verso of the front free end paper. Interesting material concerning Sir Joshua Reynolds found among Boswell's newly discovered papers at Malahide Castle, including character sketches of notable people such as Samuel Johnson and David Garrick. With illustrations of engravings and mezzotints from Reynolds' portraits. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally smart, with faint marks to the front board; otherwise, colour and gilt remain bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright but with some spotting to the first couple of pages and the odd spot to the fore edge, affecting the occasional page. Dust wrapper is chipped to the head and tail of the spine and to the folds, with some faint marks to the wrap and spotting to the flaps, but overall appears smart. Very Good. book.
