Bishop Webb not only pacified and reuniting the divisive congregations of Grahamstown (enabling the start of the building of its beautiful catherdral), but he was one of the first of the Anglican hierarchy to encourage the work of women in the church through the formation of Sisterhoods (viz: this book). At some stag the book has been re-bound. The boards are much worn from storage. The 'new' spine is smart and firm. The boards are steady and sound. The contents are pleasingly pastoral.
