A very interesting historical volume. Illustrated with a coloured folding map to the frontispiece. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities; a minor cockling to the cloth of the rear board. The cloth to the spine has slightly darkened. With a small bookseller sticker to the front pastedown, and an ex libris stamp to the title page. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with only a minor odd spot to the very occasional leaf. Illustrated with a colour folding map as frontispiece. Very Good. book.

She was introduced to the diarist Francis Kilvert in 1871, and we are told that she was then 35 and the grand-daughter of George Stothert, the manager of the famous Bath engineering firm Stothert and Pitt.
