Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Second Edition, Enlarged. "In these pages, I have striven to tell an old story in which Ayrshire [Scotland] bore a leading part; and I have striven to tell it in such a way that the men, women and children of Ayrshire may see what good reason they have for being proud of their ancestry. Both publishers and writer are at one in honestly seeking to diffuse and perpetuate among the people, if not the precise opinions of the Covenanters, at least the brave, earnest , God-fearing spirit that animated them. It is hoped that the additional chapters in this new edition, giving an account of persons and places not mentioned in the former book, will increase the interest in the story of the Covenanters of Ayrshire." - Prefatory Note. Second enlarged edition. Undated but our research suggests a possible printing date of 1904. [5]-97, [2 ads] semi-glossy pages. Many black and white illustrations and reproductions of photos. Tight and unmarked with average wear to original red cloth lettered and decorated in silver. A sound vintage example. ; 12mo.
