Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. pp.viii, 216 pages, a very good hardback bound in the publisher's original boards with a brown cloth spine. Pages are completely clean after the first (the ffep) which has a name with 1871 date.

Leather. Zustand: Very Good. None (illustrator). A scarce half calf copy of this insightful mathematical title, collected by Zulu scholar J. W. Colenso. A Victorian mathematical title, bound in half calf and marbled boards, and decorated with speckled text block edges. Penned by British cleric and mathematician John Williams Colenso. Colenso was a Biblical scholar, the Bishop of Natal, and a defender and a scholar of the Zulu language. This work was first published in 1841. Bound in half calf. Externally, generally smart. Moderate rubbing to boards and extremities. Notable rubbing to spine. Lacking spine label. Front joint slightly starting to the base of the joint. Mild age toning to endpaper extremities. Ink inscription to front free endpaper. Hinges slightly starting. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with the odd mark. Very Good. book.

Tightly bound in green cloth with gilded titles. Very light shelf wear, 1/2" chip at the spine head and 1" slit at gutter, otherwise Very Good. Contents are tight with very light smudging. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There is a handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no external indications of the library's ownership.
