Unterhalb der Darstellung Vermerk in Tinte: C 2; das entspricht dem Blatt C 2 aus: Boissard, Jean-Jacques: Bibliot…heca chalcographica . 1652-1669. Dieses Portrait unterscheidet sich in der Beschriftung, die sich dort im Oval und nicht unterhalb der Darstellung befindet. Schönes Exemplar.

Very good copy. Modern halfleather, new endpapers. In 1583 Christopher Plantin settled in Leiden as printer of the university. He was succeeded in 1585 by…his son in law, Fr. Raphalengius, who was appointed professor of Hebrew in 1586. In 1588 he published the first Leiden edition of the small Hebrew and Chaldaic dictionary of Pagnino, followed by a second ed. in 1599, and the third in 1609. In these 3 editions Raphalengius added a preface and in the third one he added the Latin index. Another edition was published in 1616. Fuks, Leiden 24. Steinschn. Handbuch 1511, 4-6, mentions erroneously Antwerp as printing place of these 4 editions.
