This is a thorough guide to foxhunting in North America. The author Alexander Mackay-Smith (1903-1998) served as the Master of Foxhounds of the Blue Ridge Hunt for 16 years. He also served as Director for Virginia of the Masters of Foxhounds Association and from 1952 to 1976 was editor of its official publication The Chronicle of the Horse.
