Small open tears at crown and foot of spine, never extending far enough to touch text. One closed tear at bottom right corner of front cover, a second closed tear at top center of back cover, each about an inch long. DJ heavily worn but fully intact, all text still legible, no price-clipping. No date on title page. Copyright page dated only 1953. 662 pages, followed by 16 numbered plates.
