Three titles bound as one. First is William Roy and Jerome Barlowe's Dialogue between a Gentleman and a Husbandman "each complaynynge to other their miserable calamite through the ambicion of the clergye", and this also includes "A Compendious Olde Treatyse shewynge howe that we ought to have the Scripture in Englyshe" written by a Lollard, about 1450A.D. This is followed by Sir Walter Raleigh's The Last Fight of the Revenge at sea, an account of the epic battle between Richard Grencille and 53 Spanish ships in 1591; and finally, there is a selection of works from one of the earliest of the English pastoral poets, Barnabe Googe. Condition: Very good condition for age. Some light rubbing and surface wear to leather corners, light spotted foxing to prelims but remaining in strong readable condition.
