Printed on hand-made paper, top edge gilt. Gilt cover design by Gordon Craig. Original publisher's cream quarter vellum lettered gilt at the spine over mauve boards with gilt cover design/ illustration by Gordon Craig. Articles by theatre experts, with superb illustrations of costumes designed for the stage. The designers include Edward Gordon Craig, Laurence Bradshaw, Max Beerbohm, Lucy Norton, Albert ffrench Salkeld, Norah McGuinness, Paul Shelving, Edmund Dulac, Doris Zinkeisen,Charles Ricketts, Claud Lovat Fraser, Oliver Messell and William Nicholson.
