Including an initialled note from Gwynnedd Lady Quilter, nee Douglas-Pennant (1879-1960), the daughter-in-law of Sir Cuthbert Quilter. Slightly cracked at inner hinge, otherwise very good.

Two pages, 8vo, fold mark, very good condition. " I feel I must write you & tell you how deeply I sympathise with you and your daughters in your very sad loss. Although I did not know your husband very well, I was a great admirer of his work and I knew him well enough to realise what a really vital and lovable personality he had. | I shall never forget his friendly and generous words when we first met some years ago. | I know you must be inundated with letters, and how really useless most letters are [underlined] when one is in great trouble - and of course you must not think of answering this - but I did want you to know how real and deep is my sympathy.".
