(edges bit tatty, a few tiny inconsequential holes). "Preamble and regulations 1-7, passed by the Council Jan. 20, 1790. They authorized district land boards to execute the order of the gover…nor-in-council of Oct. 22, 1788, for putting certain reduced officers upon an equal footing with those of the 84th Regiment. This order extended generally to officers, veterans of the American Revolutionary War, settling in Quebec, who had improved those lands already granted them by royal instructions of 1783, 1787, or otherwise, grants of land on the scale promised as King's bounty, Apr. 3, 1775, to officers serving in Royal Highland Emigrants (84th) Regiment; i.e. to field officers 5,000 acres; captains 3,000; lieutenants 2,000 acres."
