This book presents the history of warship figureheads of Portsmouth by illustrating with watercolor paintings. It examine s the context of each figurehead against the life of its ship and the background of the carver who created it. About the Author David Pulvertaft, a retired adm iral, first became interested in warship figureheads during his long naval caree r and has spent some 15 years researching the subject.
