The Pages Are Aged, The Eps Badly Glued By The Printer Leaving 'Bubbles' Under The Paper, The Glue Of Which Has Discoloured The Free End Paper. The Text Is Fairly Clean Although On A Couple Of Pages A Thumb Mark Can Be Sen. The Text Is Still Visible At These Parts. The Front Eps Are Split Along The Gutter And The Webbing Is Visible But The Board Is Firmly Attached. Brown Cloth Covered Boards With Blind Stamped Design In All The Corners. Gilt Insignia And Title On The Front Is Fairly Bright Although The Lower Half Of Thew Date Is Missing. Bumping To All Edges With Minor Fraying At The Spine Ends. Some 'Bleaching' To The Cloth On The Front And Rear With The Rear Having A Couple Of Dots Of What Appears To Be Paint. An Interesting Report Including Consideration For The Suffering Of The Animal Not Just The Practicalities To The Farmer.

Half leather with mabled paper boads. Corners worn. Spine tearing away from rear hinge. Especially scuffed on rear. Some foxing. Small tear and light spotting to plan. Of significance is this scarce plan of Port Hope Harbour, surveyed and planned by Peter Fleming, January 1846. Fleming's proposed "improvements" shown in pink, the proposed sections of the Board of Works shown in green, and the "present" sections of the Harbour Lands and Piers shown in yellow. Map is 45 x 55 cm when unfolded.
