More prominent to text block edges. Moderate cracking to gutters exposing netting and causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has minor tanning with noticeable fraying, splitting and crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

This fascinating work is a fictional tale exploring the process of canonization in the Church of England. Written by 'The Prig' which is defined as a self-righteous moralistic person. 'The Prig' is a pseudonym for Thomas Longueville, an author of several works including Pryings among Private Papers, and The Life of Sir Kenelm Digby. In a red and black cloth binding. Externally very smart with just some slight bumping to the extremities and the head and tail of the spine. A few light marks to the boards.Small puncture mark to the rear board. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with just the odd spot, heavier to the first and last few pages. Dedication from the author to front blank.
