Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 5th or later Edition. If you are a bird lover and bird book collector, then this book will be a novelty indeed for you. It is the story of the Lyrebird (Menura novaehollandie) found naturally and exclusively in Australia where it inhabit a single narrow tract of the nation, in the densely timbered mountains along the eastern and south-eastern coasts. As the book notes: "More than sixty percent of the population of Australia is settled in the States alonsg whose littoral the Lyrebird ranges, but, although thousands of people have heard the Menura singing and calling in the forests, very few, even yet, have been privileged to see a living specimen." Please see the photos of the Table of Contents and the List of Illustrations for your further information on the book and on its more elusive subject-the Lyrebird. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are generally clean and bright, especially the gilt decorations and titles. There is a tiny blemish on the upper edge of the front cover and a bruise on the upper edge of the rear board. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and photo plates are clean and bright from cover to cover, without toning or foxing. The endpapers show some slight darkening, doubtless from the acids of the binding glues but the interior page have avoided these issues. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight abd sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Various (illustrator).…
