Greenock is a town and administrative centre in the Inverclyde Council area in Scotland, and a former Burgh in the historic county of Renfrewshire, located in the West Central Lowlands of Scotland, with Gourock to the West and Port Glasgow to the East. Publisher's note tipped-in to the title page explaining how it has been impossible to include a Plan of the Town. Spine very slightly sun faded and in Very Good clean and tight condition. Member of the P.B.F.A. SCOTLAND (Gaelic: Alba).

Both volumes ex-Guildhall Library in later library cloth, the STREETS Directory has the title repaired at the fore-edge margin and the first leaf of Introduction is torn with loss of around a quarter of the text, there are a number of marginal nicks and some corners have been clipped with very slight loss, a few leaves repaired in the fore-edge margins, one leaf torn with loss; the TRADES Directory with first text leaf torn with loss of a few characters, one leaf with a large tear in the margin but no loss, one other leaf torn in the fore-edge margin with old repair and slight loss, overall a few edge tears and no loss and in rather better order than the Streets volume, both offered as working, reference copies, with all faults.
