The papers herein were presented by the Petroleum Administration for War (PAW) to the Special Committee on November 28, 29, and 30, 1945. Except for the closing statement by the Petroleum Administrator, the papers were not read to the Committee in full but were placed on the Committee's records and presented to the Committee in summary. The committee provided the PAW with an opportunity to present the story of what was done by that agency during the Second World War and to provide a foretaste by way of suggestion as to what the nation might expect of the industry in the future.
