Because that book has now been out of print for several years it was decided to publish a new complete catalogue. The present volume contains slightly less detailed descriptions, but it does present illustrations of all the works in the collection. The authors are indebted to Dr Filedt Kok for his permission to draw freely on his texts in the first catalogue. They have made grateful and sometimes word-for-word use of them. The Society of Friends of the Rembrandt House Museum has been closely and enthusiastically involved with the project at all stages and is bearing some of the cost: the museum is much indebted to them.
