Handwritten signed letter loosely inserted from Peter Gorb to Laurence & Jim written on headed notepaper from 17 Redlington Road, Hampstead, London NW3 7QX and consisting of about 60 words in which he says it was lovely to see them both after so long. He encloses the memoir as promised. Handwritten signed postcard of a painting of 'The Blue Shed; by Joseph Southall loosely inserted from Peter Gorb to Laurence & Jim consisting of about 75 words in which he thanks them for the meal, seeing them and David was 'quite like old times.' Aged thirteen in 1939 Gorb joined up just before his eighteenth birthday, he was posted to India and was stationed at Dehra Dun. He left India as Independence was declared. The title refers to the fact that Gorb never saw a shot fired during the Second World War. A fine copy. Fine.
