Postkartenformat (postalisch nicht verwendet). Sehr gut erhalten. Otto debütierte 1895 und kam nach Engagements in Halle, Wiesbaden und Hannover 1906 nach Berlin. Hier spielte er zeitlebens an fast allen großen Theatern und war seit 1910 zudem häufig beim Film beschäftigt, auch als Regisseur. Nach 96 Stummfilmen hatte er keine Probleme mit dem Übergang zum Tonfilm, der für viele Stummfilmstars das Karrierende bedeutete. Er stand mit Asta Nielsen vor der Kamera und verfilmte unter dem Titel "Erdgift" 1919 eine Adaption von Frank Wedekinds "Erdgeist". Nach 1933 blieb seine jüdische Herkunft zunächst unentdeckt und 1937 wurde er auf Grund seiner von den Nazis geschätzten Theaterarbeit zum Staatsschauspieler ernannt. 1942 wurde ihm sogar die Leitung der Fachschaft Bühne der Reichstheaterkammer! übertragen. Als seine jüdische Abstammung jedoch 1943 durch Zufall entdeckt wurde und die Deportation drohte ging er mit seiner Frau gemeinsam in den Freitod. Über die beiden Berliner Photographen Otto Becker und Heinrich Maass ist wenig bekannt. Beide betrieben Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts eigene Studios in Berlin, bevor sie 1902 dort ein gemeinsames Atelier gründeten. Dort portraitierten sie u.a. viele prominente Schauspieler, Tänzer und Stummfilmstars, aber auch den Dichter Gerhart Hauptmann oder den noch jungen Verleger Ernst Rowohlt. Sprache: de.
