Originalleinen. Zustand: Gut. XLIX, 476 S. Aus der Bibliothek von Prof. Wolfgang Haase, langjährigem Herausgeber der ANRW und des International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT) / From the library of Prof. Wolfgang Haase, long-time editor of ANRW and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT). - sehr guter Zustand - Widmung der Autorin - Preface -- This bibliography attempts to include every book and article dealing with Edward Gibbon or his works and published between 1761 (the date of his first published work) and 1985. It also includes reviews of works on Gibbon, extended comments on him in general works, and representative instances of sustained allusions to him and entries in works of reference such as encyclopedias, text books, and collective biographies. Editions and translations of Gibbon's own works are included if they include editorial commentary, but not otherwise, and reprints of these editions are not listed unless they contain substantial new editorial material. Reprints and translations of works entirely devoted to Gibbon are always included, but reprints of works in which he appears but of which he is not the principal focus are omitted. Foreign language works are included, but, especially in the nineteenth century, many have probably escaped collective bibliographies and therefore were unknown to me unless they were cited by other scholars. Quotations from works not written in English represent my translation, unless otherwise credited. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.
