Soft cover. Zustand: New. What does Tamil taste like? With a history of three millennia and spoken by 90 million people today, Tamil is at once ancient and modern. It is the oldest surviving language of the world. How is this Dravidian tongue different from other languages that look towards Sanskrit? Why was black the ideal of beauty for Tamils? Why do they not care for Deepavali? Why is the god Siva different from the North Indian Shiva? How does curry trace its roots to the Tamil kari? When was the first idli made? A verse in the Thirukkural says: The right salt brings out love s sweetness/ It kills the taste when less or in excess. Adding a dash of salt to Tamil s sweetness, Tho Paramasivan, the greatest chronicler of all things Tamil, tells us the things we do not know about Tamil country.
Soft cover. Zustand: New. 1st Edition. The aim of this book is to bring light to the computational phenomena. The traditional vehicle for studying computation in general is to introduce a model and then generalize. Chapter 1 deals with various mathematical preliminaries that include the concept of graphs, trees, sets, relations, strings, abstract languages and mathematical induction. It also incorporates regular languages, finite state automata, its types, proofs, theorems and lemma with sufficient number of solved problems with a syntactically simple language. Chapter 2 and 3 deals with formal grammar, hierarchy of grammars, context free grammar, pushdown automata and properties of context free languages. Chapter 4 illustrates about Turing machine and more emphasis on their role as a general model of computation. Chapter 5 focuses on undecidability and more stress has been placed on polynomial-time decidability, the sets P, NP and NP completeness including computable functions with adequate examples. The key feature of this book is that the proofs are formal and explicit, the notations and formatting are mentioned clearly in an understandable way. It consists of ample examples to enable absolute understanding of the basic concepts. Besides these, the book also comprises of chapter-end review questions. (jacket).

Social entrepreneurship is the art of creating a socially responsible business that aims at generating profit, while solving social and environmental problems. A social entrepreneur starts and runs social enterprises. Social entrepreneurs find new and efficient ways to create products, services or structures that either directly cater to social needs or enable to cater to social needs that must be satisfied in order to achieve sustainable development. Social entrepreneurship takes responsibility for an innovative and untested idea for positive social change and ushering that idea from dream to reality. It enables social entrepreneur to make lasting impact on the most difficult problems and it is a special combination of groundbreaking creativity and steadfast execution. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a concept, accepted the world over, whereby corporates integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in the interactions with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis. The three keys to an effective CSR are commitment, clarity and congruence with corporate values. Clarity is all important because each corporate entity has to frame its CSR initiatives based on the environment of the activities being carried out. Congruence is about ensuring the corporate attitude to its responsibilities towards society. CSR should also be consistent with own values and culture of the company.
