Not to be confused with the 2001 film, directed by Brian Robbins starring Keanu Reeves, the 1994 Fox television series about a fictional American League baseball team, or the 2019 Australian children's television series. Created by Robert Plam, the series, about a veteran plainclothes detective, Charles Battles (John Ashton), who is about to be reassigned to a desk job or forced into retirement, and is forced to partner with a young unconventional detective, Joe "Kaz" Kaczierowski (Richard Tyson), with whom he is constantly at odds, aired for one season of 18 episodes, before ending on June 29, 1980. In the premiere episode, Battles finds out he's about to be reassigned to desk job and is partnered with the young hotshot "Kaz", before being quickly assigned to protect a key witness, the wife of a mobster and an old girlfriend of Battles, who is about to testify against her husband. Set in Los Angeles. Front wrapper integral with title page, dated April 24, 1989, with credits for screenwriter Frank Lupo. 109 leaves, with last page of text numbered 106. Xerographic duplication, rectos only, with pink revision pages throughout, dated 4/26/89. Pages Very Good plus, with light foxing to the outer leaves and fore-edge, bound with two gold brads.
