Whether these are products of Kishere or Sanders must depend on the date of Kishere's setting up his pottery, but evidence of this is lacking. The main decoration on many of these pieces was the square panel depicting a punch party, possibly inspired by Hogarth's Midnight Modern Conversation, and as mentioned above, both this and the hunting figures were used by Factory C. If a Bristol connection is proved for Factory C, it may be significant that one Bristol stoneware potter was voting from Vauxhall at this period, and that others were resident in Lambeth. A typology of this early Mortlake group can be constructed by reference to silver-mounted pieces: the globular jugs with terraced foot are the earliest, with baluster-shaped jugs with beaded foot developing from them in the 1790s, while the mugs and loving cups seem also to date from the later period (Plates 25, 26 and Colour Plate D).
