Cloth. Zustand: Good. None (illustrator). A scarce copy of Osmaston's theatrical work on Cromwell. With an Errata bound in front of the title page, with two corrections. Oliver Cromwell (25 April 1599 3 September 1658) was an English military and political leader and later Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Ireland. With the bookplate of Captain Arthur C Crawford to the front pastedown. In a red cloth binding with gilt title detailing to the front board and spine. Externally, generally smart with light rubbing in places, and a few marks to boards; with bumping and very slight loss to the head and tail. The front joint is starting but firm, and the rear hinge is tender. Internally, the binding is slightly strained, and the pages are generally bright and clean with scattered spotting and minor age toning. With some discolouration and marks to the endpapers; and a paper bookplate of Captain Arthur C. Crawford adhered to the front pastedown. Good. book.

Bound in publisher's navy cloth lettered in gilt on the spine. Near Fine with moderate rubbing to extremities and slight darkening to spines and upper edges of textblocks. Volume I: mottling to front board, several faint stains to textblock edges, and foxing to prelims. Foxing and offsetting to endpapers, ink quotations and traces of bookseller inscriptions to each front free endpaper. Uncommon. The influential German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel lectured on aesthetics throughout the 1820s. In 1835, four years after Hegel's death, his student Heinrich Gustav Hotho published the three-volume Aesthetik based on the philosopher's manuscript (now lost), lecture transcripts, and a smattering of his own ideas.
