Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - A book for anyone interested in Scandinavian enamel jewelry, featuring 128 (one hundred twenty-eight) Scandinavian enamel workshops and their artisans, their makers mark, and samples of their work from the Golden Age of enamel jewelry (1860 to 1960). From 1860 to 1960, an era of Scandinavian enamel jewelry production flourished. Because Scandinavian enamel had extremely high technical and artistic quality, this period is called the 'golden age' of enamel jewelry and thus an important era in enamel arts history. From the late 1800's, enamel art became one of the most prestigious fields in Scandinavia and by 1904 for example, at the Saint Louis World's Fair held in Missouri, USA, Norwegian enamellists received awards in enameling that surpassed their Russian counterparts. However, there was almost no information published about these award-winning master goldsmith artisans. The book is about prominent Scandinavian master goldsmiths and their Workshops. Each 122 Scandinavian workshops include a photograph of the founding artesian (if possible), at least one of their Makers Mark(s), and photograph(s)s of a selection of their enamel work. The book also contains 6 unidentified Scandinavian workshops.
