Tom Brown's Schooldays describes life at one of the great English public schools - Rugby - in the days of one of its most famous headmasters, Dr. Arnold; when conditions and customs were very different, but the boys themselves seem to have been much the same mixture of kindness and cruelty, courage and cowardice, toughness and sentimentality that they are today. Although this book was set in the past, it shows that people themselves still remain relatable and this is why, Tom Brown's Schooldays can still be read and thoroughly enjoyed by anyone who picks it up. A classic title if ever there was one and a fine addition to any home library.
