American tenor and songwriter remembered for popular Irish ballads such as "My Wild Irish Rose" (1899, also the name of the 1947 film version of his life) and "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" (1912) Large and bold "Yours in Irish / Chauncey Olcott / 1906" in deep brown ink, heavy stock 3½" X 2½" card, n.p. Very good. Mild age toning. A handsome example with an appropriate inscription.

Bangs silver print photograph of Olcott, 5.75 x 8.25 inches, with photographer's imprint on the front, depicting the actor in a jockey suit and cap, circa 1910; original sepia paper-stock photograph of Olcott, in stage outfit, 6.5 x 4.5 inches, circa 1935; scarce four-page issue of "The Stage," 9.25 x 6.25 inches, conspicuously advertising Olcott in his Broadway success "The Terrace," May 5, 1902; a 1925 wire photo with the original caption sheet still attached on the back: "Chauncey Olcott, Actor Reported Dying," 6.5 x 8.5 inches; plus two postcards and a 3 x 2.5-inch color cigar card. Overall in very good condition. Irish-American stage actor and entertainer.
