"Mañanas en Mexico" (Mornings in Mexico) is a collection of travel essays by David Herbert Richards Lawrence, first published by Martin Secker in 1927. This work displays Lawrence's gifts as a travel writer, catching the 'spirit of place' in his own vivid manner. Lawrence wrote the first four of these essays at the same time as he was completing and revising his Mexican novel, "The Plumed Serpent." Three of the others, about Pueblo Indians, were written earlier in 1924 in New Mexico, and the final piece "A Little Moonshine with Lemon" came later as Lawrence remembered his New Mexico ranch (Kiowa Ranch) from Italy. Minor age toning on glassine. Glassine in overall good, wrappers and interior in near fine to fine condition.

According to Octavio Barreda, the magazine had among its purposes to be politically center, considering it a service publication. Another of the purposes of Letters of Mexico was to dignify the theater. From the beginning, works by Celestino Gorostiza, Xavier Villaurrutia, Rodolfo Usigli and Ignacio Retes were inserted. 132 numbers came out; the first 24 were biweekly and the other monthly. The numbers 2, 3 and 4 were financed by Alejandro Quijano, Genaro Fernández MacGregor, Eduardo Villaseñor, José Rubén Romero, León Salinas, Carlos Obregón and Octavio Barreda himself. Two months after leaving, that is, at number 5, according to the director of the magazine, the ads paid poorly the printing cost. For the first issue, Barreda obtained collaborations from some of his friends. On the initial page there is a poem by Carlos Pellicer, "Hours of June". Agustín Yáñez, Samuel Ramos, Xavier Villaurrutia, Ortiz de Montellano, Eduardo Villaseñor, Felipe Teixidor, Antonio Acevedo Escobedo and a young student of philosophy, a disciple of Ramos, named Adolfo Méndez Samará, also collaborated. To obtain positive results with the collaborators, Barreda set out to respect their ideologies and religious beliefs; it also excluded, as far as possible, foreign literature, materializing nationally and with the intention of presenting new values.
