David Charles Gompert (born October 6, 1945) is an American government official and former diplomat who serv…ed as the acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) following the resignation of Dennis C. Blair in 2009. Prior to his ascension as DNI, he was Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and continued serving in that capacity until 2011. He has worked in senior executive positions at Unisys, AT&T, and most recently as a senior fellow at RAND, a leading research organization that explores topics such as national security, terrorism, economic development, and science and technology. He was a distinguished research professor at the National Defense University's Center for Technology and National Security Policy. From 2003 to 2004, Gompert was the senior adviser for national security and defense to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq . Examines how the United States should improve its counterinsurgency (COIN) capabilities through, for example, much greater focus on understanding jihadist strategy, using civil measures to strengthen the local government, and enabling local forces to conduct COIN operations. Vintage script for the 1970 play. INSCRIBED by playwright Mart Crowley to author and film critic Parker Tyler on the title page: "NYC / 11-15-69 / For Parker Tyler / who makes me know I know very little / With warm and deep admiration / Mart Crowley." One of the first film critics to write extensively about experimental, undergr…ound, and avant-garde cinema, Parker Tyler served as the film commentator for Amos Vogel's film society Cinema 16 and coedited the Surrealist magazine "View" with Charles Henri Ford. He also appeared in several experimental films, most notably Maya Deren's 1944 silent film "At Land." His 1972 book "Screening the Sexes: Homosexuality in the Movies" was one of the first books about homosexuality and film, preceding Vito Russo's "The Celluloid Closet" by nine years. His papers are held by the New York Public Library. Crowley's second play, following "The Boys in the Band" (1968). Five men and three women attempt to escape their unhappy lives at a spacious villa in the Mediterranean, but ultimately find themselves trapped in their own petty discomforts. The play debuted at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles on December 1, 1970. OCLC locates one holding. Maroon titled Studio Duplicating Service wrappers, with credit for playwright Mart Crowley on the front wrapper. Title page present, undated, with credit for playwright Mart Crowley. 138 leaves, with last page of text numbered 2-47. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Very Good plus, slightly yapped at the edges, bound with two gold brads. Signed.

Addressed to 'Elliott O'Connell Esqre of The Red House, Guilsborough, Northants.' He is sending him a copy of his 'Genealogical Table of the Princes of Ireland', 'in a cardboard-roll to see': 'The descents are… from the Common Ancestor, Milesius, King of Spain and Ireland'. The price is two pounds, and he believes that 'it is the first time that the 23 lines have been set out on one Chart and in their appropriate places of Geniture, and over so distant a period of time'. Letter Two: 1p., 12mo. Simply signed 'Donough O'Brien'. In fair condition, on lightly aged and ruckled paper. 'Certainly I remember meeting you. I am making a note that you will be at 49 Gros. Str from 29 Apr to 13 May, & if I am in town will hope to see you.' He explains his usual movements, suggesting that they 'meet by telephone when I'm up'.
