Illustrated with numerous portraits, photographs, facsimile letters etc., all are present as caled for in the contents list but the frontispiece for Volume One is loose (illustrator). 1st Edition. Set of two volumes, strongly bound in the original blue cloth with some marks and minor handling wear, the spines are slightly sun-faded. Foxing generally confined to the first and last few pages of both volumes, damp tide mark stains affecting the top plain edges of the frontispieces of both volumes. Small inscriptions dated June, 1902 in both volumes on the front free end papers.
