Three major SAP ERP business modules have been used: Production Planning, Variant Configuration and Product Cost Controlling. Suitable alternatives used for mathematical equations are formulas in production work centers and formulas in object dependencies. Specific factors and tables are processed in the form of variant tables. The calculation of the basic dimensions of power transformer was done according to the procedure defined in 19 basic steps. Results are included in Production BOM via object dependencies. Calculation of the production time was done for the main operations, using historical data available. Data are processed by linearization and included in routing via object dependencies. The whole procedure can be a big help to managers in the decision making process, because once the material quantity and production time are calculated, the production cost estimate can start. So, all managers need is standard ERP system.
