We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. About the book >.>.> Silver: Light and Shade is a comprehensive exhibition catalogue published by The Holburne Museum that delves into the material qualities and versatility of silver, alongside its visual significance. This catalogue reflects the collaborative efforts of the Museum's curators and its Learning department, which worked closely with chemistry students from the University of Bath. Their partnership enhances the exhibition by allowing visitors to investigate the scientific importance of silver, thereby showcasing its multifaceted nature. The catalogue not only highlights the aesthetic attributes of silver but also enriches the viewer?s understanding through educational components inspired by the students? creative activities. These initiatives, presented in the Sackler Discovery Centre, aim to bridge the gap between art and science, providing an engaging and informative experience for attendees. Acknowledgement is given to various contributors, including exhibition lenders and supporters, whose roles were pivotal in realising this project. The Holburne Museum expresses gratitude towards significant individuals and organisations, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Goldsmiths? Company, for their sponsorship and guidance. Underlining the Museum's ethos, Chairman Richard Fleck CBE states that art has the potential to transform lives, an idea that resonates through the lens of this exhibition. Silver: Light and Shade stands as an important resource for those seeking to appreciate not only the beauty and craftsmanship associated with silver but also its broader scientific and cultural implications. This catalogue serves both as an informative guide and a celebratory document of the unique relationship between art and scientific inquiry. (LL).…
