Divka je prevlecena za chlapce, coz jedine ji zabezpecuje ochranu a lasku jejiho adoptivniho otce, pasi Osmana, ktery prisel o vlastniho syna a hleda v domnelem Omarovi nahradu. Cim je divka starsi, tim je jeji postaveni nebezpecnejsi. Nakonec se pri oblehani Lublane setka se svym strycem, zachrani jeho a barona Marka ze zajeti a spolu s nimi uprchne ke svym. Toto strucne liceni nemuze vsak zachytit vsechen pestry a rusny dej valek s Turky, probihajicich ve Slovinsku a v Bosne v 15. stoleti. V dobe, kdyy u nas vladl moudry Jiri Podebradsky, byl Balkan zmitan neustalymi najezdy Mohamedanu.
