Most of the cover's spine strip is missing; Most of the spine strip's back remains, except over the top 1 1/2 in. of the text block's spine. The boards' margins, by the spine strip, have tape stain left by a repair attempt. The endpapers also have tape stain along the folds. Hardcover. Zustand: Good. THERE ARE NO TARIFFS OR CUSTOMS DUTIES ON BOOKS. Two early Ladybird books, the first and third from series 417, first published in 1941. The books were written by Muriel Levy (there is a facsimile of her signature on the title pages) and illustrated in colour by Kiddell-Monroe. The series eventually ran to six books; the last, The Snowman, appeared in 1948.This copy of Going to Sea is the seventh edition, from 1947. The boards show some minor wear - a bit of rubbing, the odd small mark. A previous owner has written their name within a banner in pencil opposite the title page. Elsewhere there are a few little marks here and there, but the contents are generally clean and the illustrations have come up well. No dust jacket. A good minus copy.The edition of Fireworks is not stated. The book has a little more wear externally. There is also some very slight tearing to the endpapers at the hinges. Some of the pages have a small tear or rubbed patch at the right edge - probably at one point there was a bit of moisture there which cause the pages to adhere together - and then become a little torn when pulled apart. The contents are otherwise clean, with the colours bright. A good minus copy. The pictures are of the actual books for sale.
