In den WarenkorbHardback. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. Octavo Size [approx 15.5 x 22.8cm]. Very Good condition in Good Dustjacket. DJ protected in our purpose-made clear archival plastic sleeve. DJ spine a touch faded with some edgwear and rubbing. Illustrated with Black and White Photographs. 200 pages. In 1942 sixteen Australian-born men were secretly interned in Sydney. They were members of the Australia First movement, a tiny fringe group whose philosophy comprised chauvinistic Australianism, spiced with anti-British, quasi-Fascist and anit-Semitic overtones. Their internment was subsequently the subject of a report by Justice Clyne. Muirden paints a disquieting picture of what can happen to civil liberties when ordinary legal proceses are suspended on the grounds of 'security'.
