Gilt design and lettering to top board, gilt lettering to spine, top edges gilt, rest untrimmed. Split to 2" of backstrip, rubbing to spine and corners, darkened panels to endpapers and edges age-toned, otherwise good copy with no inscriptions. Size: 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Book.

Upper hinge cracked, foxing to end papers, previous owner inscription in pen to half title page. Pencil annotation to list of illustrations indicating which are by Arthur Rackham. Some grubby marks throughout and pp112 also repaired unskillfully with tape. A charming but well thumbed copy - Good only.

Book has a moderate forward lean.

Mabel Henrietta Spielmann (1862-1938) was a British author, married to art critic Marion Harry Spielmann.
