Drawing on little known Arab sources and with assistance from survivors and observers of the conflict, Mousa asks pertinent questions regarding Lawrence's role and his sincerity of belief in Arab independence yet does so in a thoughtful and considered way. The publisher notes that Lawrence's brother was asked to comment and his words are included at the end.
