In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 5th or later Edition. Six books in total, all six books have original publishers green coloured bindings, with stunning gilt birds on front boards (each gilt bird is different) and gilt titles on the spines. All books have hand cut pages of which over the years have slightly discoloured edge of papers. Overall these fabulous books are in really nice condition, and as they are used books normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. Volume I: has 318 pages, on inside front board and first blank page are two small white blobs of paper where it looks like they were stuck together, and someone has separated the pages, showing a small white tiny mark on each page, this does not affect the overall look, but I thought it appropriate to mention. Volume II: has 288 pages (with the first blank page showing a similar tiny white mark as in volume one). Volume III: has 281 pages (similar tiny white mark to first blank page as Volume two. Volume IV: has 258 pages (similar white marks to Volume two on first blank page). Volume V: has 232 pages (with similar white marks to first blank page). Volume VI: has 252 pages. All pages intact with nice tight bindings. Please note these six books when packaged properly for postage/shipping weigh a considerable amount of weight therefore for overseas buyers, postage/shipping may increase from listed price depending on final destination. All four hundred hand coloured plates are in very good, clean and viewable order, they are absolutely stunning each and everyone of the plates. A very collectable set of six books that have taken years of research by a prolific naturalist Francis Orpen Morris (1810-1893) who was an Anglo-Irish Clergyman, notable as "parson-naturalist" and an author of many children's books on natural history and heritage buildings. Six wonderful books that have served many years of study by previous owners and now are available to a new individual or organisation that may preserve them for future generations to come. A gorgeous set of six books that would grace any stylish library.
