Hard pictorial boards with some rubbing/chipping to edges, some soiling, minor creasing/scuffing. Contents fair with a little soiling, occasional splitting, one page reattached with tape. Charming colour illustrations by the author throughout. A charming little book featuring a collection of nursery songs in French & English, each with attractive illustrations. Polichinelle is the French version of Pulcinella, the character from the Italian Commedia Dell'Arte, usually known as Mr Punch in England. One of the songs included is about that character.

There are tears in the corners of the spine that are peeling the cover away, and revealing the binding. The cover has some soiling, scuffing and discoloration on the back cover. There are several cracks in the spine throughout the book. Some of the cracks reveal the binding and netting. The pages show reader wear. Previous owner's name inside. The binding is lose, but pages are still secure. Stock photos may not look exactly like the book.

The fabric is frayed around the corners and at the head and foot of the spine. A small area is chipped from the top of the spine with a 1.75" split in the fabric along the spine. There is rubbing to the boards and fading along the spine. The endpapers have some foxing and discoloration; the front free endpaper has a notation from a previous owner. Overall, a nice copy with bright pages and clean, colored plates in very good condition. Binding is strong.
