This copy was that of Georges Aubry, "One of the most active and influential figures in the development of a market for modern painting in Paris." Clean and tidy pages, with a clean (but slightly darkened) cover. There are a couple of closed tears to the spine / front hinge of the fragile wrapper.

Small closed tear to the head of the spine, otherwise very good. George Aubry, active in Paris from circa 1910 until the 1950s. He was an art dealer and amateur painter, who can be counted amongst the most influential and active members in the development of a market for modern painting. He held a place on the edge between dealing and collecting, developing modern art as an area worthy of investment. In the 1920's he held several sales at Drouot, including the sale of his own collection in 1924.
