Not simply a textual complement to the exhibition but also an unusual combine of art works, this book is much more than just a documentation of an exhibition, it's an exhibition in book form. In spite of its classical design and hardcover binding, it is an artists' book with a truly unusual use of texts and reprints. The book will also feature sections with visual reminders and references for all of the 4th berlin biennial activities including Checkpoint Charley, Gagosian Gallery in Berlin, and the columns presented by the bb4 in Zitty magazine." -- publisher's statement. New. In publisher-issued shrink wrap. Due to large size and weight additional shipping charges will be required for international orders.

6" x 4.5" card, and 5" x 4" card. Matthew Monahan was a legend in the booktrade as the overseer of rare books at Gotham Book Mart. Many who have worked in the New York book world long enough have Monahan stories, and others know of him by reputation. Dan Pope, a fellow book enthusiat with several books in circulation inscribed to him by Samuel Beckett, was kind enough to send Mr. Monahan these charming Christmas cards. Each features an original painting pasted down on card and rubber-stamped "Happy Christmas" on the recto, and "Pope" stamped on the verso. Two Dan Pope painted Christmas cards addressed to Matthew Monahan. Each card has a unique painting pasted down on the recto and is rubber-stamped "Happy Christmas" below, with "Pope" stamped on the verso, housed in envelopes with manuscript addressed to Matthew Monahan and postmarked 1987 and 1988 respectively; both fine 6" x 4.5" card, and 5" x 4" card. Signed.
