From time to time great concern has been expressed regarding the conservation status of the Mountain. At the present time, with the ever increasing utilization of wild areas, there is a sense of national urgency for the need to implement a scientifically based management plan to conserve the natural beauty and amenity value of the Mountain. This report focuses attention on some of the more important conservation issues and, based on the plant ecological studies, some suggestions for the national, co-ordinated management of the area are given. The most important aspects have, for convenience, been summarised in map form.".
