Illustrated with twelve plates, and in-text illustrations. Written by Robert Andrews Millikan, an American experimental physicist. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1923, due to his work in the measurements of the elementary electric charge. With a 1936 article from 'The Listener' loosely inserted, titled 'Mystery of the Cosmic Ray', written by Professor P. M. S. Blackett.
