Volumes I-VI of Saint Pauls 'A Monthly Magazine' which Trollope edited from it's first publication in 1867. The magazine ran up to 1874. Trollope contributed a few essays and parts of some books (Phineas Finn, Ralph the Heir, An Editor's Notes) were first or also published in Saint Pauls. According to Sadleir, nothing of Trollope appeared in Saint Pauls after an essay on Charles Dickens in July 1870. Trollope's period of editorship finished with the September 1870 edition. Margaret Oliphant's 'The Three Brothers' appeared from June 1869 to September 1870 (monthly). The six volumes are unifomly bound in half brown leather over marbled boards. Gilt titles and bands to spines. Marbled edges and endpapers. The cases of the books are in very good condition. A previous owner has stuck a small name label to each front pastedown. There are no inscriptions. Light foxing to prelims and occasionally throughout. 7-800pp per volume. 6-10 full page plates per volume. Millais was an English painter who was one of the founders of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
