Fotografie
Vintage borderless reference photograph of director and actor Dennis Hopper with cameraman László Kovács during filming on location for the 1971 film. Annotations in manuscript ink on the verso. From the archive of film historian and author Joel Finler. A stunt coordinator filming on location in a small Peruvian village believes he has found paradise, but soon discovers a strange and violent cargo cult which has formed among the locals. In spite of his ongoing battle with substance abuse, director Dennis Hopper was granted full creative control over the film after his unexpected success with "Easy Rider" in 1969. The film's massive failure, which became the stuff of legend, essentially ended Hopper's directorial career in Hollywood for the better part of the ensuing decade, until "Out of the Blue" in 1980. Set and shot on location in Peru. 7 x 9.5 inches. Near Fine. Pitts 2199.
